A Balanced Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is nearly upon us! A day to spend with family and friends while sharing our favorite foods. Below are some quick tips to aid in being mindful and having a healthy balance so your body can thank you later.
1) Start with Breakfast: A light, protein-rich breakfast (like cereal, oatmeal, or yogurt with fruit) helps start the day out right.
2) Plan Your Plate: Sure, dig in on all the great favorites, but leave room for some greens too.
3) Pace Your Alcohol: Alternate with water, dilute drinks, or try mocktails or unsweetened beverages along the way.
4) Dessert with Intention: Of course, get in on the dessert action, but maybe choose your top favs and/or have a smaller portion.
5) Move a Little: Physical activity is a great Thanksgiving tradition - whether it's playing turkey football, going for a walk/run, or just throwing around a frisbee!
6) Focus on Joy and Connection: One indulgent day won’t undo your health progress. In the end, it is important to prioritize joy, tradition, and relationships over food alone. Enjoy the day!
